I'm a bit late in posting, but rather late than never.
Sunday was my 'babys' birthday, and he turned THREE... yup... can you believe it? Three already.
We had his party last Friday, so Sunday was more of regular day...
We went to church, came home and had lunch, let Luke open a few more presents that we'd saved from Friday, and then it was nap time.
Sunday evening, we had a couple of friends over (mine and Jakes friends) and had a great grilled chicken dinner out on the porch. It was a good day.
I couldn't get Luke's birthday video (him excited to open presents) loaded to my blog, so here is the link if you want to see it. :) He's at a fun age now for gift opening and excitement.

SOME THINGS ABOUT LUKE AT AGE 3:
Luke is suddenly starting to grow up so fast.
For the longest time, his speech delay kept him seeming more 'babyish', but just suddenly in the last 6 weeks or so, he has caught on, and his the words are just coming daily.
He LOVES shapes... and knows most of them (circle, oval, square, rectangle, star, triangle, heart), and is constantly pointing out random objects that have a specific shape (the oval mirror at the opticians office, the round door knob, the rectangular sign post etc etc)
He has also learned many of his colors. He knows red, blue, green, yellow, orange and purple.
He seems to be fascinated with tractors right now, so Jake picked out a really cool John Deere tractor for his birthday. It even has a 'wagon' that attaches to the back for it to pull. Luke LOVES it.
He is starting to speak in sentences now, which is AWESOME. We can actually have little conversations with him now...mostly about spiders.. his other fascination... and we have A LOT of them where we live, so we're constantly hearing about them. (funny how commonplace spiders become when you have so many where you live... I've learned to just duck and walk out the door without even thinking twice about the dozen spiders I know are hanging above my head in the car port. LOL...welcome to 'the country' haha)
He is starting speech therapy next week. I think it'll help him to move his speech along even more, and he'll get some help with the sounds that he's still struggling to pronounce.
His favorite food is probably PB&J sandwiches (which was also mine for the first 6 years of my life, and remains high on my list to this day. lol)
He is still not potty trained, though I think stubbornness issues are part to blame. lol
He still likes to sleep with his snuggle monkeys EVERY NIGHT and probably will for a long time still.
I think this next year with Luke is going to bring a lot of changes... language, behavior, and just having a lot of fun with our 'big boy' who's really beginning to take an interest in lots of things now.
We love you Buddy :)
