MORE ABOUT LUKE

Luke has grown so much. He is such a chubby little chunker... and it amazes me every time I look at videos or photo's of him, just how much he changes and how quickly he is growing. Luke has come a long way over the past few weeks. He has just recently started sleeping through the night which is just the greatest thing.

He has also finally, with some strong insistence, learned to take a dummy/pacifier, which has made him a completely different baby. He was never able to settle himself, or put himself to sleep. He would also wake up within minutes after falling asleep if we put him down, which was very frustrating because either Jake or I would always have to be holding him to keep him asleep. After we finally got him to take a pacifier he is now a changed baby... he will happily just chill out on the couch or in his bed when he starts getting tired and suck his pacifier until he falls asleep. He is a lot less cranky, and just such a pleasure during the day. We have also noticed that since taking the pacifier, he seems to prefer being put down to 'rest' or nap when he gets cranky, rather than being held constantly like he did before. It has just made things so much easier each day, as he isn't in 24/7 need of our attention, and we are able to get other everyday things done.
Since napping so well with his pacifier, he is also much happier in general, as he is far less tired.
We are just loving our sweet little boy. I feel like the luckiest person in the world, to have such a perfect family... a loving, caring husband and just the cutest, sweetest little boy.

Recently, Luke starting realising he has a tongue... he now loves to wiggle it around and stick it out. Sometimes he looks like a little reptile alien baby with his tongue action. We get such laughs watching him sometimes.

PICTURE PERFECT

Tonight I was once again bathing Luke in the kitchen sink. Just before taking him out, I flipped him over to wash and rinse his back, and when I did that, he just made himself comfortable hanging over the edge of the sink. We just had to take a picture, and it came out just so adorable. I just have the most beautiful son in the world. He is perfect. (Perhaps the words of a biased mom, but you have to agree, that he is just darn cute. )

Lukes First Swim

A few days ago, Luke had his first swim in his grandparent's pool. He was a little hesitant at first, but our little water baby soon started to enjoy his swim. He loves the shower too, so we really weren't surprised at how much he enjoyed the pool.

In the picture below, I was getting distracted, and didn't realise that poor Luke was silently swallowing the pool water. The little cutie didn't at all complain. LOL Poor thing!

A Little Bit of History...

The other day, we took a few pictures of Luke wearing a little white 'nightie'... they might seem random, but we wanted to take the pictures because they come with a little bit of history.

The white 'nightie' that Luke has on is almost 30 years old and belonged to Jake when he was about the same age... so we just had to get some pictures of him wearing something that was once his daddy's. Though I do struggle to picture Jake being this little and cute... lol :D

Buddha Baby

Luke has grown so much over the last couple weeks. He is the cutest, chunkiest little boy, and he has sooo much character.

He has a hearty appetite, and as a result, he has become our little 'Buddha Baby'... he has a huge pot belly, a set of 'moobs' and he has some porky little thunder thighs.

We are just loving our little chunker... chubby babies are just the cutest.

He has also started to sleep really well at night. About 2 weeks ago, so when he was about 6 weeks old, he started only waking up once in the night. He goes to bed around 9:30-10:00pm and usually sleeps until some time between 3:00-4:00am, and then goes back to sleep until 7 or 7:30am...
We have been so grateful for the extra sleep. Then, last night, he did even better.. he slept right through the night, from 10:00pm until 6:00am, and then he went back to sleep at 6:45am after a feed, and slept until just before 9:00am... it was wonderful. So, I think his hearty appetite and chubby baby fat storage are definitely helping him to be a good sleeper.

We just love him so much!
