STARVING LITTLE MONKEY

Just a cute video of Luke eating some of his daddy's banana...

Listen carefully to the sounds he makes... you'd think my child hasn't seen food in weeks.

FUNNY CHAOS

Things in our lives are very fast paced and crazy right now, with Luke, the new job, new house, moving, etc etc etc... I feel like I am trying to juggle too many balls, and sometimes my brain just fails to keep up and I have 'mommy brain moments'... tonight I had one of those moments.

I have been sitting for a while this evening, reading some very useful blogs about food storage, emergency preparedness and other handy ideas for moms etc... so in addition to all the things already going on in my small brain, I now have all these crazy ideas swirling around about me becoming some kind of super mom, getting completely on top of my food storage, learning to sew, having a vegetable garden, canning fruits etc etc etc...anyway, while in the midst of my swirling brain activity, Jake asked me to go get Lukes pacifier for him... he was trying to put Luke to sleep in the rocking chair. So I put my laptop down, go fetch the pacifier and walk back to the living room with the pacifier and while apologizing to Jake about how badly distracted I have been tonight, proceed to try and put the pacifier into JAKES' mouth... only when Jake looks at me oddly and starts to laugh do I realise what I am doing. LOL.... my brain is so tired, and just can't keep up, but it does give us the occasional reason to laugh.

OUR FIRST HOUSE

Jake and I are very excited. We have just arrived back from North Carolina, after a fast paced week of house hunting, and we have come back happy to announce that we have bought our first house. The closing date on the house is 23 October, so hopefully everything goes well with that.
The house is in Elm City, which is a small town, in a pretty rural area, about 20 minutes outside of Rocky Mount, and Wilson which are 2 bigger cities nearby. The house is on a 1 acre lot, has 3 official bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, dining room, big kitchen and an extra room that can be a 4th bedroom, den, office...whatever. It has a covered porch out back, and an above ground swimming pool, with LOTS of back yard to do things with. We are sooo excited to own our first home and get all set up. The new house will be pretty empty for a while though, because we don't have nearly enough furniture to fill up a full sized family home. We were even more thrilled to get a great interest rate on our mortgage. We got a fixed rate of only 4.875% , so that will make the 'burden' of our mortgage so much more bearable.

Here are some pictures. These are both pictures that I took, as well as pictures from the listing, so they are all of the home with the current owners furniture still in. I will update pictures in a few months when we are moved in with our stuff.

PARK DAY

On Friday, Jake and I met some friends at a local park for a couple hours.
They had some baby swings, so I tried Luke out in one. No surprise, he loved it, so he hung out in the swing until he fell asleep.

PIZZA PANIC

Last night, Jake and I decided to get a pizza for dinner. Luke was being fussy, so Jake held him in his lap while we ate... Luke seemed rather interested in Jakes food, so he decided to give him the crust to lick... well, Luke loved that.

Anyway, being only 4 months old, licking pizza crusts probably isn't the best idea, so we took it away after a few licks and Jake grabbed another slice for himself.

WELL... Luke, all 4 months of him, had some SERIOUS objections to his daddy eating pizza in front of him and not sharing a second time... Our little stinker is too smart for his 4 month old socks...and definitely knows what he wants... I think we may have created a little monster. LOL.

WHAT TO DO WITH A HYPER BABY...

Luke, we have come to learn is an extremely high maintenance baby, and he requires constant attention and entertaining, often from both Jake and I at the same time or he doesn't seem to be satisfied and will "whine" until he knows he has both our undivided attention.
Well, we have started to discover some of the things that entertain our little "speed" baby.

Here are a few videos of things we do with Luke that seem to satisfy his need for attention and entertainment... please note that all are 'energetic' because our little hyper boy doesn't think that sitting on daddy's lap, chilling out in front of the tv or rocking with mommy in the glider while having a quiet conversation is sufficient attention and entertainment.
